Try Meyer's Latin Bistro

If you like your fish a little spicy, you'll want to try Meyer's Latin Bistro. Meyer's Latin Bistro was previously known as Meyer's Latin Flair in Jacksonville, Florida. You'll now find them at 2528 N University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33065. Their telephone number is 954-780-9150. Check out their website at http://www.meyerslatinbistro.com/.

Please read on to learn more about the heritage of Meyer's Latin Bistro ... Meyer Pinchssow is still serving up that spicy Latin food, but how it is a bit of a drive from Jacksonville, Florida!!

My experience with the tasty Latin food of Meyer Pinchssow! We had a most delicious dinner last night and I promised the chef and owner Meyer Pinchssow that I would be writing about it today! So, that's what I'm doing -- writing to tell you about this fabulous cafe known as Meyer's Latin Flair. It's located at 9041 Southside Blvd. just north of The Avenues Mall.

This was not our first visit as we've been there quite a few times. Normally I order the same item every time I eat there -- Spicy Fish -- Pescado Picante, which is a fresh fillet of fish topped with homemade creamy rocoto (hot pepper) sauce. That was what hubby ordered with two etceteras -- black beans and yellow rice. When Meyer told me he could give me that creamy rocoto sauce on another entree, I opted to have the Macho Fish -- Pescado a Lo Macho. That's fresh fillet of fish normally topped with special homemade creole sauce with mixed seafood of shrimp, calamari, scallops and mussels. There was a hint of garlic in the creamy rocoto sauce that topped my Macho Fish -- let me tell you, the taste was so incredible that I can use this often over-used expression: it was TO DIE FOR!

I asked Meyer what were his suggestions as the 2 etceteras. He recommended tostones and fried yuca. OMG, the friend yuca was outstanding and of course so were the tostones. Some of the other etceteras are corn cake (arepa), red beans, and sweet plantains.

As our drink item, we opted for a bottle of Coperidge White Zinfandel which was personally opened by the chef himself. To top off this excellent meal, the chef surprised us with a chocolate cake like mousse, that was sinful it was so good, with a side of vanilla ice cream.

So, if you live in or near Jacksonville, FL, you owe it to yourself to make a trip to this fine eatery! FYI, there was a table of patrons who were from Miami, FL. They said this was the most flavorful Latin meal they had anyplace other than Miami! Wow -- that's quite a testament.

P.S. This fabulous restaurant closed a few years back. I do believe they moved on to South Florida. I've been trying to find out where they went. It was good while it lasted!

A Poem Miracle On The Hudson Flight 1549

A Poem -- Miracle On The Hudson - Flight 1549

... And Today I Said: Enough!
Enough News About Hatred And Greed.
I'll Send You Someone Whom You Desperately Need.
I'll Give You A Hero, A Man Who Can Fly.
His Family Of Travelers Will Number 155.

The Day Will Be Wintry And The Water, Ice Cold.
Before The Night Falls, A Miracle Will Be Told.
This City Of Heroes Will Once Again Save
Their Sisters And Brothers From A Watery Grave.

I'll Send My Earth Angels To Show To The World
That I Do Bless America. I Do Keep My Word.
Can Anyone Doubt My Love For You All?
I Heard Your Prayers And
I Heard Your Call.

In Your Beautiful City Where The Twin Towers Fell
You Suffered, My Children. You Witnessed Pure Hell.
You Needed A Sign And The Sign Is Of "Life"!
Away With Your Pain. Away With Your Strife.

I Meant For This Man To Be With You This Day--
To Show All Mankind That I Mean What I Say.
I Heard Him Plead "Oh God Don't Let Them Die".
His Prayer Was Answered When I Heard His Cry.

I Am With You, New York.
I Am With You My Children.
My Gift On This Day
Is A Brief Glimpse Of Heaven.

When You Think I'm Not With You
And You Cannot Go On.
Remember This Miracle
And Embrace A New Dawn.

I've Given You Heroes - You Know Who They Are.
They Light Up The Earth...Each One Is A Star.
Now All My Children, Who Today Have Been Saved,
Go Do Unto Others In Your Own Special Way.

I Shall Always Hold You
In The Palm Of My Hand.
I Love You, My Angels!!
I Bless This Great Land!

Your Loving Father.
