Happy 12 Year Anniversary on eBay

Time tends to fly in the internet world. I completely forgot that on July 15, 2012, I celebrated 12 years on eBay. Can you imagine that? When I first began selling online, it was twelve years ago. I ultimately qualified to be a powerseller before I stopped selling on eBay and ventured on to Overstock then iOffer and finally eCrater.

So, it was today that I received a very nice email from eBay. At first, I thought it might be a phishing attempt as I haven't been all that active on eBay lately. Checking out the email, it appeared to be for real. Here's a peek at that email message!

Congratulations! It's your 12-year eBay anniversary!

Thank you John Donahue for this thoughtful gesture! Too many times when you operate in the online world of various sites, you don't get thanked appropriately. So, it is nice to get a personal thank you email from such a powerhouse of an ecommerce site.

It was suggested that I download and print my eBay Community Member Anniversary Certificate and display it proudly. They said, "You've earned it!" Ah, isn't that the nicest gesture!  OK, folks! I am now proudly displaying my certificate for all to see.

On my eBay "about me" profile I've written that I believe in being the best that I can be; you know, trying to be myself and treat others as I want them to treat me. I've been a member of eBay since July 15, 2000 ... that's nearly a decade of time since I first published this life principle.

Revisiting a core "principle" of my meaning.

So, I am sitting here on a rainy Saturday morning in Jacksonville, Florida contemplating how I will "use my time" from this point forward to accomplish my goal to be the best that I can be ... to be original and authentic ... to not be "stifled by dry rot." Got to go now ...

As an eBay Seller Looking for What's Hot

As an eBay seller, I'm on the look out for what's "hot." And, I don't necessary mean "hot" as in those prolific knockoff or replica handbags, which are seemingly the rage. I can't tell you just how many sellers on eBay are selling knockoffs as the real genuine thing!

However, "eBay.com has rules posted forbidding the sale of counterfeit goods, but it's not unusual to see Louis Vuittons on the site for less than $100."

I personally would rather sell the real, genuine article. So, I'm sticking to selling designer women's apparel with recognizable, authentic brand names.

UPDATE: I was a seller on eBay, selling enough to have qualified for power seller status. I've not sold on eBay for a number of years. This is an information post.
